The troublesome writing of a mission statement and its importance.

who ever thought that architecture was all about communication?

In this phase of the design process, I start realizing that writing down the clue of what I have been working on for a semester now, is the most difficult part of the assignment. All the ideas, positions, perceptions that accumulated in my brain, are now lying somewhere in this mental sphere, with no order.
They form a huge amount of info that I find already hard to grasp myself, let alone to communicate it to others. A mission statement forces you to define the essence of your work.
From now on, I will always make mission statements. Because, what is a design worth if it is not even clear for yourself?

Educational Centre of Human behavior (ECHo b)

Through the phenomenological study of the
city, we find new ways of incorporating the
aspect of lived space into our fabrication of
architecture.
A revalued understanding of the experiential
dimensions of urban design moves beyond the
norms of individual architectural intention,
towards the indefinite properties of urban
assemblage.
The revelation of street behavior is an
argument for urban integration and the
interrelation of urban space.

My aim is to conceive urban space by
incorporating ‘lived’ principles. Constructed
with a plurality of meanings, this model of
urban life can be an instrument of abstract
thought, capable of changing and shaping
urban life with phenomenal experiences.
I want to add that the partially described
behaviors through urban geometries remain in
doubt, always changing.
